Did the PMPRB censor CHPI’s Submission to its Draft Guidelines Consultation?

Summary

Did the PMPRB censor CHPI’s Submission to its Draft Guidelines Consultation?

Readers,

In March, the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) completed a public consultation regarding the pending implementation of new draft regulatory guidelines. After public submissions closed, the consultation website posted a note stating: “Extensive feedback was received and all written submissions are now available on the PMPRB website.” However, the website omitted a submission made by the Canadian Health Policy Institute (CHPI). CHPI conveyed to the federal Minister of Health our serious concern that the PMPRB had censored its public consultation by excluding CHPI’s submission from the list of posted submissions on the consultation website. As of April 16, 2020 the PMPRB resolved the issue by posting CHPI’s submission. CHPI has made our submission available here.
