Organization

Launched in 2012, Canadian Health Policy Institute Inc. (CHPI) is a non-governmental research enterprise and the publisher of Canadian Health Policy Journal (CHPJ).

Canadian Health Policy Journal (CHPJ) is the journal of the Canadian Health Policy Institute. CHPJ publishes the work of CHPI affiliated scholars and occasional submissions from external researchers.

CHPI’s centre for Canadian Access to Innovative Medicines (CA2IM) is a chaired research program dedicated to the empirical evaluation of government policies affecting patient access to new bio-pharmaceutical therapies in Canada, and is focused on generating practical policy options for improving access. The centre is funded partly by corporate group membership subscriptions and sponsorships from companies in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry.

CHPI’s centre for Healthcare Economics, Analytics and Literacy (HEAL) is a chaired research program dedicated to the empirical evaluation of government policies affecting the availability of medical resources, the efficient delivery of medical services, and the sustainability of healthcare financing. The centre endeavours to generate innovative, practical, non-ideological policy options to improve outcomes for Canadians. HEAL is funded primarily by grants and sponsorships from private charitable foundations. The centre has a special focus on improving public literacy regarding healthcare policy issues.

CHPI offers expert consulting services to non-profit, corporate and government clients for non-published research projects through its policy intelligence unit (CHPIntel).
